In celebration of PT Indobaruna Bulk Transport 45th Anniversary, February 21st 2020 was a special day for us as we held book launching event of Oceanic Joy: A Journey of a Big Indonesian Shipping Company.

The book was written by Cyrillus Harinowo, Ph.D. and Ika Maya Sari Khaidir, S.E., M.M. as a present for PT Indobaruna Bulk Transport 45th anniversary. We are proud and honored to have our journey immortalized in this book.

Oceanic Joy: A Journey of a Big Indonesian Shipping Company tells the long journey, the ups and downs, of PT Indobaruna Bulk Transport since the incorporation of the company in 1975 until this day, whereas PT Indobaruna Bulk Transport manages to own and operate 20 cement carriers, and becomes a prominent player in the niche market of bulk cement sea transportation.

On February 21st 2020, the book launching event was started by an opening speech from Minister of Transportation Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Budi Karya Sumadi, who also attended the event among other distinguished guests from PT Semen Indonesia (persero) Tbk, PT Semen Padang, PT Semen Gresik, PT Semen Tonasa, PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk, Penta Ocean-TOA-Rinkai-PP-Wika Consortium, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk, PT Bank HSBC Indonesia Tbk, Indonesian National Shipowners' Association (INSA), and other business partners.

During the book talk session, both writers emphasized the role of strong family bond, visionary leaders, as well as professional team members to help this company succeeds. However, these internal factors were also supported and made possible by government policy that helped shaping the national shipping industry and gave banks the confidence to support the investment made by shipping industry.

By signing and presenting the book to PT Indobaruna Bulk Transport, the book was officially launched. Today, Oceanic Joy: A Journey of a Big Indonesian Shipping Company can be found in Gramedia book stores.
